How can you sign in 160 employees in less than 5 seconds?

I went to see a company today that had several locations, 2 of the largest with 160 odd employees in each. One of the issues with so many employees and only one or 2 employee time clocks was the speed with which all the employees could sign out at the end of the day. I remember seeing this first hand in a mattress factory for AH Beard maybe 20 years ago now, they no longer make the mattresses in the factory as they are all imported. What happens when employees arrive at work is that that most of the employees arrive between the 30 minutes prior to the actual starting time. So if you had 80 employees arrive between 6:00 am and 6:30 am for a 6:30 start you would get several employees every 30 seconds or so with a bit of a rush in the last few minutes. Some people arrive early and some people arrive just on time or late.

So what happens at the end of a day?

Once the siren goes off to signal end of the day 80 people work immediately to the employee time clock to sign out, when I saw this at AH Beard more than 15 years ago it created an instant line of employees waiting to sign out and the line could take 5-10 minutes for all employees to sign out.

What if you could get rid of your employee lines at the end of the day in less than 5 seconds?

Back 15 years ago iPhone’s and iPad’d did not exist, it does not matter today if you are signing out 80 employees, 150 employees or 500 employees, you can sign them all out in less than 5 seconds by signing in and out your presence on site with a mobile phone….Do you want to reduce your employee lines to sign out at the end of the day?

Do you want to get your staff out of the factory fast at the end of the day?

Deputy employee scheduling and shift worker assistant explains GDPR

Posted on: April 21, 2018 | Categories: Compliance scheduling StaffRosters Blog Time & Attendance

Deputy recently like all cloud software solutions put out a statement regarding the upcoming changes due to the GDPR.

At Deputy it’s our mission to improve the lives of shift workers, globally.

To help us achieve this mission, and in preparation for new EU data protection laws, we’ve updated our Privacy Policy, Subscription Agreement and internal processes.

These updates ensure we are compliant with the new European laws (known as the General Data Protection Regulations, or GDPR), and give you more transparency and control over how we deal with your personal information.

To keep you informed, we’ve addressed a few common questions about the GDPR below:

What is the GDPR?
The GDPR is a comprehensive data protection law that replaces existing European privacy laws and strengthens the protection of personal data in an increasingly data driven world. The GDPR is enforceable in each EU member state and gives individuals greater control over their personal data.

Why does it matter now?
The GDPR comes into effect on 25 May 2018. We’re updating our processes, systems and policies now to make sure we’re fully prepared.

What is personal data?
Any information related to a natural person (individual) that can be used to directly or indirectly identify the person. It can be anything from a name, a photo, an email address, bank details, posts on social networking websites, medical information, or a computer IP address.

Who does it affect?
The GDPR applies to any organisation that processes personal data of EU individuals, regardless of whether the organisation has a physical presence in the EU. For Deputy customers, that’s any organisation with one or more employees in the EU.

What do I need to do?
Our new Privacy Policy and Subscription Agreements will go into effect from today. Please read the updated Subscription Agreement and Privacy Policy and make sure you familiarise yourself with their contents.

If you’d like to learn more about the GDPR and the changes we’re making, we’ve created an FAQ’s page. Read the FAQ’s here.

Thanks,
The Deputy team.
