George Calombaris has been caught out with poor systems. While his OCD applied nicely for preparing food that skill did not transfer to admin. Poor systems for employee timekeeping and payroll has led to this situation where George has shortchanged staff $7.8 million dollars. Did he do this knowingly?

The Royal Botanic Gardens expand employees scheduling with Time & People

This week after a successful pilot across 5 locations that make up the Botanic Gardens in and around Sydney and the Blue Mountains from 2018 with 120 employees The Botanic Gardens have expanded the employee scheduling software to assist with staff rosters by adding 80 specialist teachers to the system. Prior to going digital everything was manual, time sheets, scheduling by spreadsheet and telephone calls, everything was time-consuming and delayed due to the way manual systems work. Deputy evacuation reporting

I get asked this question about evacuation and time and attendance a lot,  typically a time and attendance system has all the hourly paid employees who sign in and sign out each day but management data is missing as they do not physically sign in and each each day. Some customers will ask can we use the access control data for management as they all tap into the access control system. Access control system data is not much good if you do not have a turnstile to make sure single file only, when access control is on a door one person swipes and opens the door and multiple people can walk through without swiping.

So what is the best way to get an evacuation report from a time and attendance system?

The answer is quite easy really, you can implement a visitor management system that has the ability to receive all the employee clocking’s from the time and attendance system and allows salaried staff to sign in and out their presence on site for evacuation, all of the data comes together in one evacuation module including any contractors currently signed in on site.
