How can I schedule employees to know how many are in the office?

This has been the most asked topic over the last 8 weeks through several different questions.

  • How can I schedule employees into future weeks?
  • How can employees see what days have fewer people based on government limits?
  • How can employees pick what day they want?

Here is my best answer to the problem

  • Build out a schedule for each desk
  • Gives employees access to choose a desk on the day that suits them
  • Once the desks are gone for the day, there are no more desks to select
  • Allow employees to trade desks with each other
  • Report on expected V actual
  • Get visibility on people who book and don’t arrive

Once you have built your initial schedule copy to the following week in seconds.

Let employee book office desk

More important than ever to record electronic employee start times during Covid-19

Adding your work schedule to your google calendar – Google helped to solve this issue

Customer……

I work a rotating shift schedule which is standard every month. Basically I want a shortcut (likely by using a weekly/daily repeat function) to set up the hours for the year without having to go in and individually add each day. For example, the shift is set up as follows:

Beginning 24 January – Monday – Sunday from 6am-2pm
Beginning 3 Feb – Thursday-Wednesday from 10pm-6am
Beginning 14 Feb – Mon-Thurs from 2-10pm

Of course, you scatter some random days off because the hours end up being more than you actually need, but in general, I would like to repeat those all on the same days. I attempted to use the weekly repeat, but it does it from the end of the shift, not the beginning, so when you schedule out 4 weeks from a night shift it messes up the days.

Google answer…..

HEY DUDE, I JUST DID MINE AND THIS POST BY KiethR2010 BELOW HELPED ME IT… WAS EASY.

ALL YOU BASICALLY DO IS REPEAT THROUGH DAILY AND CHOSE THE SET DAYS. MY SCHEDULE IS WORKS 2 DAY SHIFTS 2 NIGHTS AND OFF 4 SO I ENTERED THE FIRST DAY IN MY CALENDAR THEN REPEATED IT EVERY 8 DAYS. IT WORKS LIKE MAGIC LOL

George Calombaris rips $7.8 Million from his employees

Posted on: July 19, 2019 | Categories: award interpretation rostering scheduling Time & Attendance

George Calombaris has been caught out with poor systems. While his OCD applied nicely for preparing food that skill did not transfer to admin. Poor systems for employee timekeeping and payroll has led to this situation where George has shortchanged staff $7.8 million dollars. Did he do this knowingly?

How could George have avoided this situation?

The answer is simple, with a timekeeping system designed to stop these issues from occurring, with built-in awards it is not possible to short pay employees. Don’t get caught out in your restaurant, if your using timesheets or spreadsheets it is time to put an electronic system in place.

  • Schedule employees easily from your PC or mobile phone
  • Awards built-in
  • Remove manual data entry integrate with payroll including Xero, Quicken, MYOB and many more

I believe George has now paid all the money back, copped a fine and also needs to offer his time to complete some adds.

Well this is the best news to begin 2019, prior to this recent change it was costing $5 per employee per month for the most advanced scheduling and Time & Attendance system. We have a bunch of customers though that do not need the scheduling and some customers who do not want Time & Attendance, they just want scheduling.

Now you can have your cake and eat it to.

If you just want Scheduling $2 per employee per month, does not get any easier than that

If you just want Time & Attendance $3 per employee per month
