1. Payslip export

Along with exporting to Xero timesheets, you can now export to Xero Pay Slips directly! This means you can skip the timesheet approval process in Xero and go straight to payroll. It’s perfect for when there are elements of pay that aren’t just “Hours”. Eg. distance travelled, allowances, tips etc. If you want to track wages across tracking categories, we recommend using Timesheet export.

 

2. Auto update

Exactly one year ago Deputy launched Xeroshare. This site allows Xero customers (even those not using Deputy) to utilise industry rates in their Xero account. Deputy can read the rates directly in Xero which allowed configuring overtime and allowances using our bracket notation. There was just one little annoyance, you had to keep syncing the employees in Deputy. Today we’ve introduced a minor update, now you don’t have come to Deputy to update/sync the rates again. Simply setup “Updated Employee” -> “Sync Pay Rates” integration under Location Settings -> Add-Ons -> Xero.

3. Xero payroll for the UK

After working closely with the Xero Payroll team Deputy are proud to be the first add-on partner to release an integration for Xero Payroll UK. I have already evaluated Deputy. According to my staff I am unable to run two rosters (one for Kitchen and one for Floor) in my restaurants without having two ipad time clock kiosks at each site. Communication is key when scheduling many employees across multiple locations

We all know now that Deputy is the global leader when it comes to employee scheduling. But what about communication?

The communication module has recently been updated and you can now not only post messages and create group messages to open up communication but you can also include important files that need to be shared across your employees. If you’re a small business with 10 employees working out of a single location some of these tools may not have the same benefits that a company with hundreds of employees and multiple locations will gain.

Imagine being able to share information with all of your employees across multiple locations across the country or around the world at exactly the same time. Deputy has made this possible with the recent communication updates to the news feed.

Key communication tools when scheduling employees include pushing the schedule out to employees directly to their smart phone. MYOB get chance to make inroads on Xero huge customer base full of MYOB customers

Since Xero was released in 2006 they have been taking MYOB customers by the thousands. MYOB have tried to stem the flow but it has been difficult with Xero having a massive head start in the cloud. There are many reasons that Xero has been successful, hundreds of partners have all contributed to the movement of MYOB customers moving from MYOB to Xero.
