Working from home – How can you check in with employees?

We have had an explosion of people working from home (WFH) We have had customers call in trying to solve many issues connected with employees WFH even if they are not signing in and out each day. The most popular question currently is what is the best way to set up an employee daily induction/check-in that can be automated and alert of issues? So we went about creating a questionnaire that can be completed online, clever enough to alert management where an employee may be struggling with the working from home environment.

Once the questionnaire is created it is simply a case of setting up some alerts based on answers selected, in this example if an employee selects the second option – No, I would like to talk about how I feel. Fair Work changes affect thousands of businesses

Fair Work Australia changes come into effect 1st of March 2020. Does this affect your business?

Who is impacted?

Many awards have already been impacted including the Clerks-Private Sector Award and Pharmacy award. The next major industries to be impacted include the hospitality industry general award and the Restaurant Industry Award. These two awards alone will impact thousands of businesses and millions of employees.

Why were these changes made?

These changes have been made to help salaried employees who were working 50, 60, 70, 80 hours a week and more but only getting paid for 40 hours .

How does it work?

Effectively salaried staff now need to sign in and out each day and based on the hours worked over 12 months they must not be worse off than the appropriate modern award.

What can I do?
